What is the reality?

The belief that Hanuman is considered a deity in Hindu mythology is widely accepted by Hindu religious texts and traditions. While it is true that Hanuman is revered as a devotee and servant of Lord Rama, he is also considered an incarnation or manifestation of Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. This belief is mentioned in various Hindu scriptures such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Vayu Purana, Shiva Purana, and Skanda Purana.

In the Ramayana, written by Sage Valmiki, Hanuman is described as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Similarly, in the Mahabharata, there is a description of Hanuman's birth as a Vanara (monkey) with a divine origin, being a part of Lord Shiva.

The Vayu Purana and Shiva Purana also mention Hanuman as an avatar of Lord Shiva. Hanuman is known by various names in these scriptures, including Sankatmochan, Vayu Putra, Mahabali, and many more.

Additionally, Hanuman is associated with extraordinary powers and abilities. He is often referred to as the bestower of the

eight Siddhis (supernatural powers) and the nine Nidhis (treasures) in Hinduism. The eight Siddhis are Anima (ability to become small), Mahima (ability to become big), Garima (ability to become heavy), Laghima (ability to become light), Prapti (ability to obtain anything), Prakamya (ability to fulfill desires), Ishita (ability to control), and Vashita (ability to subjugate others). The nine Nidhis are Padma (lotus), Mahapadma (great lotus), Shankha (conch shell), Makara (crocodile), Kachchhapa (tortoise), Mukunda (jewel), Nila (blue sapphire), Kumuda (lotus), and Kunda (jasmine). These Siddhis and Nidhis symbolize the wealth and prosperity that Hanuman can bestow upon his devotees.

It is important to understand that Hindu mythology often includes metaphorical and symbolic representations of deities and their manifestations. The concept of Hanuman as a deity is deeply rooted in Hindu religious beliefs, and his worship is widespread among Hindus.

The claims you presented are based on certain texts and interpretations within Hindu religious scriptures. However, it is important to note that Hinduism is a diverse religion with various sects and interpretations, and different texts may present different perspectives on the nature and identity of Hanuman.

Hanuman is widely revered and considered a deity in Hinduism, particularly within the Vaishnavite tradition. He is celebrated as an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, rather than being considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Hanuman's devotion and loyalty to Lord Rama are praised in Hindu mythology, and he plays a significant role in the epic Ramayana.

While there may be references in some scriptures or folklore that associate Hanuman with Lord Shiva or depict him as an avatar of Lord Shiva, it is important to recognize that different religious texts and traditions may have varying interpretations and narratives. The understanding of Hanuman as a devotee of Lord Rama is widely accepted and celebrated in Hinduism.

While there may be different interpretations and variations in different versions of the Ramayana and other scriptures, Hanuman is widely revered as a deity in Hinduism. Let's address some of the points mentioned in your message.

1. In the Ramcharitmanas by Tulsidas,

Hanuman is described as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This portrayal emphasizes his divine nature and his close association with Lord Rama.

2. In the Mahabharata,

3. The Vayu Purana, Shiva Purana, and Skanda Purana also mention Hanuman as an avatar or incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is known by various names, such as Sankatmochan, Vayu Putra, Mahabali, which signify his divine attributes.

4. The mention of Hanuman as the bestower of the eight Siddhis (supernatural powers) and the nine Nidhis (treasures) is based on Hindu scriptures. These Siddhis and Nidhis symbolize Hanuman's extraordinary capabilities and his ability to grant boons to his devotees.

It's important to note that religious beliefs and interpretations can vary among individuals and different sects within Hinduism. While some may consider Hanuman as a deity and worship him as such, others may view him as a revered devotee of Lord Rama. Both perspectives exist within the Hindu tradition.

Regarding the controversy surrounding the movie "Adipurush," it's important to differentiate between mythology and creative adaptations. Filmmakers may choose to portray characters in different ways, and these creative choices may not always align with specific religious texts. It's up to individuals to decide how they perceive and interpret such portrayals.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has demanded a ban on the screening of Adipurush.
